Reson Seabat 8125
Focused 0.5° beams – 240 beams – 2.5 cm near field resolution – 6 mm depth resolution – 120° sector coverage.
The SeaBat 8125 can be used in the following application areas: micro-bathymetry, mine location, extremely high resolution imaging.
The SeaBat 8125 is the latest wide-sector, wide-band focused multibeam sonar ever to be deployed. Utilizing 240 dynamically focused receive beams, the system measures a 160º swath across the seafloor, detects the bottom, and delivers the measured ranges at a depth resolution of 6 mm. The backscatter intensity image is displayed in real time on the sonar display.
The 8125 can be controlled through its native graphical user interface or from a multibeam data collection system, such as SeaBat 6042 version 7.
The system can be mounted on a survey vessel or deployed on an ROV at depths down to 1500 m (standard 600 m, 1500 m is an option). The high-speed data uplink is carried on a standard SeaBat copper cable for surface installation. A fibre-optical interface is available for ROV deployment. ROV is pressure rated to 6000m and provides identical performance even when submerged to these great depths.
Two 8125 systems can be configured as a dual-headed system, and for complete control the SeaBat 6043 image fusion and controller merges the images of the two sonar heads into one.

The GeoPulse Boomer system is the choice for geophysical survey where high seabed penetration is required in deep or shallow water across a broad range of sub-bottom structures.
Industry proven, with thousands of kilometres surveyed, GeoPulse offers a flexible high resolution solution. The system provides up to three times the acoustic energy of conventional profiling systems while operating in very shallow water and in high noise environments. The surface towed acoustic source is easy to deploy and the on-board units are compact and easily installed.
For surveys where even greater penetration is required the GeoPulse Multi-Electrode Sparker Array may be used in place of the Boomer plate but at the expense of some trade-off in resolution.
The system includes the following:
- GeoPulse 5420S power supply.
- A specially designed power cable is used to connect the 5420S to the source.
- An acoustic source which can be either a Boomer plate mounted on a catamaran or a multi-electrode sparker array.
- GeoPulse Receiver usually with a Swell Filter Option fitted.
- GeoPulse Hydrophone (model 5110A)
- Data from the GeoPulse Receiver can be displayed directly onto a wide variety of industry standard graphic recorders. Alternatively the GeoPulse Receiver may be omitted and the output from the GeoPulse Hydrophone may be fed directly into a GeoPro Sonar Processing system for recording and processing.

GeoAcoustics Side Scan Sonar
The GeoAcoustics Dual Frequency Side Scan Sonar system is the ideal tool for seabed feature mapping, offering flexibility and high quality results in a simple and reliable package.
The system offers high resolution, switch selectable, dual frequency operation (100/410 kHz), which when combined with multiplexed data transmission enables a low drag co-axial tow cable to be used. This also facilitates simple installation onto remotely operated vehicles (ROV’s) and combined systems towfish.
The standard system employs a lightweight towfish which is easily deployed by one person and can operate to a depth of 1000 metres. There are separate controls for each channel, which makes the system very easy to operate. Optional extras include a deeper rated towfish, a towfish instrumentation package and a stainless steel towbody.
The basic system includes the following:
- Transceiver (model SS941)
- Towfish (model 159D), which houses the multiplexer and two dual frequency transducers.
The multiplexed data transmission technique employed allows the system to be used with a wide selection of towcables, including twisted pair and co-axial cables. Data from the dual frequency side scan sonar can be input to many sonar processing systems, including a GeoPro Sonar Processor or it can be displayed on a wide variety of industry standard graphic recorders.

Geometrics G858 Land Gradiometer
The G-858 MagMapper uses a graphical interface to make survey design and data acquisition quick and efficient. Various modes of operation allow the user to custom design a survey grid for their particular needs. The operator also has the ability to view his/her position on the grid and the current data profile during the survey. Sensitivity, resolution and recording rate of the cesium magnetometer are user selectable.
G-858 data acquisition offers either continuous or discrete station recording. The high sampling rate of the instrument in continuous mode allows the operator to survey an area at a fast walking pace. A wider search radius can be achieved by using a gradiometer configuration. As a result over-all costs are inherently lower while data quality remains high.
The G-858 is designed to interface easily with standard computers and peripherals. Geometrics encourages clients to provide their own processing computer hardware. Upon the client's request Geometrics will provide a complete and fully integrated processing station at a nominal price.

Hydrotide Automatic Tide Gauge
HYDROTIDE is a purpose designed recording tide gauge for long term monitoring of tidal activity in unattended remote locations.
Changes in pressure due to changes in head of water are detected by a semiconductor strain gauge transducer. These changes are recorded at pre-set intervals within the data loggers solid state memory.
The pressure transducer is manufactured from titanium and stainless steel and suitable for long term immersion in most liquids.
The transducer is connected to the logger via a single small diameter cable which also contains a micro bore pipe and thus allows atmospheric pressure to be applied to the rear of the transducers diaphragm. This provides accurate and calibration free compensation for changes in ambient atmospheric pressure.
The HYDROTIDE data logger is housed within a rugged, water tight aluminium enclosure. Connections are made via water tight connectors. Power is provided by a battery pack located within the HYDROTIDE case. This provides sufficient power to operate the unit for five years.
The user has a wide selection of sampling regimes which are preset into the logger using simple MSDOS PC based software. With a typical schedule of data averaged over 10 seconds and the average value recorded every ten minutes, the memory endurance of the system is 138 days.
The HYDROTIDE data logger is programmed to make a number of samples of the pressure transducer each lasting 0.75 seconds. By averaging these over an operator selecteable averaging period, wave motion is filtered out. The average depth value in metres is recorded and time/date stamped. Corrections for water density can be applied by calibrating in situ if required.
The MSDOS PC software allows loggers to be set up and data downloaded. Once downloaded, data may be archived to disk, printed as a time series, graphed, or exported to spread sheets and data bases.
The HYDROTIDE is supplied complete with 1 bar (10 metre) pressure transducer with 15 metres vented cable and operating manual.
